The post holder may also provide remote support to Grand Cayman network systems.

The Post holder will be responsible for:
- installing, supporting and maintaining computers, data communications equipment and various Windows, and Macintosh operating systems. Server environments and software applications, wireless devices and access points which make up the Government Education Network.
- Manage servers in a Active Directory environment, ensuring that each server has maximum uptime
- troubleshoot problems with networks, web services, and database servers
- Support teachers and students who access a wide range of applications via a Cisco network infastructure and Windows Server 2003 platform involving both wired and wireless connectivity.
The post holder's Learning Community will consist of PC's and laptops including some Apple computers both MacBooks and Imacs), Servers, ICT peripherals (i.e. printers, interactive whiteboards, access points and other wireless devices, switches, routers, firewalls , handheld network devices) using software or applications such as Window XP, Windows Vista, Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Student and Encarta, music software, language software, library software lab management software, math and reading software, assets management software, CAD software, and a large number of other educational software
- Monitor system logs and activity on all servers and network devices
- Attend and actively participate in ICT meetings

Knowledge/Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher with five years experience
- Recognized professional computer certification (i.e. A+, Network+, MCP, MCSA, MSCE, CCNA)
- Demonstrate competency with some or all of the following: Windows (XP and Vista), Windows 2003 and 2008 Server, Microsoft ISA Server 2006, Microsoft Office 2003 & 2007 network environment, Internet Information Services, Apple, Citrix XenApp, XenServer and XenDesktop, VMware, Micrsoft SQL Server 2005 and McAfee ePO
